what it is
On the first weekend in June each year, communities along Highway 24 in Kansas and Colorado come together, hosting local garage sales, to create one epic garage sale weekend!! The massive event promotes travel, tourism, commerce and fun for all!
Highway 24 Garage Sales started in 2016 with the intention of three small towns having their city wide sales on the same weekend. Turns out word travels fast and people like garage sales. That same year, communities from Glen Elder, KS to Bethune, CO participated. The event has been growing and improving ever since!

HOST A GARAGE SALE
Register with your local community coordinator by MAY 17, 2024.
Your sale will be featured on your community's local map, the master list of all sales (including your description and days participating), and the mobile map so travelers can find you easily!
PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS
Draw travelers into your business by running lunch specials, having a sidewalk sale, or simply letting them know you are open and ready for business!
Your listing will be featured on the Mobile Map & on the Master List available to everyone the week prior to the event.

BECOME A COORDINATOR
Each community needs a coordinator. This can be a local volunteer, a newspaper, or any business. The role includes:
- Promoting sales locally
- Collecting registrations
- Creating a community map for local distribution
- Submitting garage sale addresses to be added to the mobile map & master list.

We've created resources to make it super easy for you or someone you know to become a coordinator.
Download these posters and add your information to the Local Coordinator Information box so locals can get in touch. Then print and distribute around your community to promote the event.
Add your town's information to this template and disperse it to gather information for local sales.
Add this QR code to your local, printed map. This will allow travelers to scan it a view the mobile map.
Coordinators must submit their sales to be listed on the mobile map and master list by Friday, May 24th.
Sales submitted after this date may not be included. Sales submitted by someone who is not a community coordinator will not be listed.

LOCAL PRINT MAPS
Local, printed maps are available in most towns at designated locations. If provided, those locations are featured on the Mobile Map and Master List. Images of these maps can also be found on our Facebook page.
MASTER LIST
Once the submission deadline has passed, we’ll post a full list of sales for each date of the event along with detailed descriptions in case you're on the hunt for something special! This also includes participating businesses!
The Highway 24 Alliance works to enrich the historical and tourism resources associated with the communities located along the highway. We collaboratively create and support local initiatives and events, working together to celebrate the simple life.
